Teaching
Higher education, if successful, provides students with the skills, knowledge, and character they will need as they embark on their careers.
A university education should provide students with a strong foundation that extends far beyond the classroom – it should give them the tools to make sense of a complex world and the aptitude to make an enduring contribution to it.
I aim to foster learning through facilitating a fun, inclusive environment, through setting high expectations, and through providing opportunities for students to develop their skills.
At UNO, I have taught a range of in-person and online courses in Emergency Management and Disaster Science. These courses include the following:
Undergraduate
-
EMGT 1000: Introduction to Emergency Management
-
EMGT 2050: Political and Legal Foundations in Emergency Services
-
EMGT 3040: Preparedness, Planning, and Risk Mitigation
